To their credit, they did refund the relevent subscription money – many hosts would simply have pocketed the cash for a claimed breach of Terms Of Service, knowing it would cost more in time and trouble to get it back via a Small Claims Court.īut any host provider so quick to take down a paying customer’s site before investigating it is one that will soon be lucky to have any customers at all.
Garden Of Shadows was always the weak link in the chain – being hosted on GoDaddy – which has a tendency of appeasement towards lawyers letters from third parties.
This is all part of the war of attrition between those running More Awesome Than You/Paysites Must Be Destroyed (different names, lots of ‘spare’ servers all over the planet, same crowd running them) and The Sims Resource that’s been the bane of the Sims community for too long. Most of you will probably know by now that the custom content site Garden Of Shadows was taken down on Saturday, the bad news being posted up at Jenfold’s blog and Nocturnal Sims:
